FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems (CO2) – CO2 is an effective fire Extinguishing agent applicable to a wide range of fire hazards. FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems
works quickly, with no residual clean-up associated with a system discharge which translates into minimal business interruption. FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems is for use in non-occupied spaces, particularly effective for local application protection of equipment. FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems is environmentally friendly, colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive agent that is used mostly in industrial applications.
When FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems is applied to a fire, it provides a heavy blanket of gas that reduces the oxygen level to a point where combustion cannot occur. Precautions must be taken to minimize any exposure to life. The Standard for Carbon Dioxide systems is NFPA 12.
FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems may be stored in either high pressure spun steel cylinders (HPCO2 Extinguishing systems) or low pressure light wall refrigerated tanks (LPCO2 Extinguishing systems).
NOTE: FM Approved ANSUL High and Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems Both HPCO2 and LPCO2 systems are equally effective at fighting fires. Neither one is better than the other in terms of extinguishment.

Descriptions
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems
are especially effective for non-occupied hazards such as semiconductor wet benches, control rooms and paint lines. Whatever the application, from cylinder to nozzle, each system is custom-designed for your specific fire hazards.
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems use individual storage cylinders- from35lb.(16kg) to120lb .(54kg) capacity each- that can be manifolded together for rapid simultaneous discharge. Cylinder valves can be opened automatically or manually, and either locally or remotely using electric, pneumatic or mechanical valve actuators.
Features
HPCO2 system have several advantages over LPCO2 systems.
Less expensive for smaller systems
Stored in US-DOT compliant High spun cylinders.
Cylinders come in 3 different sizes
Easy to install
Readily Available
Fewer Components
Applications
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems Typical areas of application:
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Coating equipment
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Semiconductor wet benches
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Dust collectors
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Paint lines
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Food processing
FM Approved ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems for Oil pool
FM Approved ANSUL Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems
Descriptions
FM Approved ANSUL Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems are designed for very large-scale aplication. There projects utilize extremely large refrigerated storage tanks with capacities between 3/4 and 60 tons (680 to 54430 kg ).
FM Approved ANSUL Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems is stored in an ASME-coded pressure vessel equipped with its own refrigeration system. The temperature within the vessel is kept at approximately 0℉(-17℃)by maintaining the internal pressure near 300 psi (20.7 bar).
Features
LPCO2 system have several advantages over HPCO2 systems.
Do not require hydrostatic testing
Continuous monitoring of the liquid level and tank pressure; the liquid level gauge provides standard alarm outputs or an optional 4-20mA output(HPCO2 cylinders must be removed from service semi-annually to be weighed)
Require 40% less floor space and less floor loading than HPCO2 systems
Multi-shot capabilities without any switch over to a reserve
Hazards may be added to an existing LPCO2 system at anytime
LPCO2 Storage Units can be refilled while remaining in service; HPCO2 cylinders must be uninstalled, sent out to a refill location, and replaced
Lower material cost when systems require more than 4000 lbs (1814kg) of carbon dioxide (40 or more 100 lb (45 kg) HPCO2cylinders)
For critical installations, dual refrigeration options are available for LPCO2 Storage Units
LPCO2 systems are 30% more efficient than HPCO2 systems at local application
LPCO2 systems have lower overall maintenance costs than HPCO2 systems
